Aqiqa/ Animal Sacrifies

a beautiful
sunnah
Aqiqah is the Islamic tradition of the sacrifice of an animal, such as a goat or sheep, on the occasion of a child’s birth. It is the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It is usually performed on the seventh day after a baby’s birth.
  • Aqiqah for boy: 2 goats or sheep
  • Aqiqah for girl: 1 goat or sheep
It is also recommended that the newborn’s head is shaved, and Sadaqah is given to the value of the weight of the hair in silver.

Aisha (RA) narrated that the Prophet (PBUH) said: “Slaughter two comparable sheep for a male newborn and one sheep for a female” [Tirmidhi].

How we help:

Arsh Foundation has launched the Aqiqah Program to facilitate the donors and to enable them to donate the sacrificial meat directly to those in need. The main objective of the Aqiqah Program is to provide those who are unable to purchase meat so that the Aqiqah donation reaches those families who most deserve it.
