Where Most Needed- Zakat

Zakat is one of the five fundamental pillars of Islam. It is a revolutionary concept with the potential to alleviate the sufferings of millions around the world.
“…and those in whose wealth there is a recognized right, for the needy and deprived” (Qur’an 70:24-5).
Zakat ensures that material wealth is circulated among the Ummah, facilitating and helping those living below the poverty line.
Zakat purifies the soul from stinginess, greed, and selfishness. It purifies property from the rights of others and has a positive impact on the economy of the community, ensuring circulation of wealth, reducing poverty and increasing economic growth.

Prophet Muhammad, upon him be peace, said: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity” (Al-Tirmidhi).

Here at Arsh Foundation, we make sure to utilize your Zakat in the most effective way by delivering it to the poorest and most deprived communities. Your Zakat can help our various causes and make the world a better place for Ummah.

“Whoever pays the zakat on his wealth will have its evil removed from him” (Ibn Khuzaimah and At-Tabarani).

At Arsh Foundation, we understand and value the importance of your Zakat, and therefore we have established our 100% donation policy in relation to your Zakat. This policy entails that if you donate your Zakat to Arsh Foundation, we will ensure that all of it goes towards the help of those who are in financial need to if it; that is, we do not use any part of your Zakat to fulfil any administration or organizational costs. So you can be sure that you are helping someone truly in need.

Your Zakat donation has fuelled various life-changing projects in poverty-stricken communities. Starting from 2017, your help has enabled Arsh Foundation to provide basic necessities like rozgar, water, education and healthcare to people who were previously deprived of it.
Through our water project, we were able to give over 2,000 people access to clean drinking water. This fundamental change altered the fabric of these communities for the better, preventing unsanitary conditions, preserving health and making life easier in general- all made possible because of your Zakat.
Your Zakat has also made possible the establishment of Maktab in Pakistan. Allowing us to empower young people and positively shape their lives. Each Maktab enrols 100 children, allowing us to give them the invaluable gift of an excellent education in both modern and Islamic studies.
Given that 44% of all children under sixteen in Pakistan do not have access to any form of formal education, the Maktabs show a way forward, providing under-privileged children a well-balanced education and a chance at a better life with your Zakat.

In numerous food insecure communities in Pakistan, we distribute food packs and cooked meals throughout the year but particularly in Ramadan, to help ease the burden of these impoverished populaces. To this date over 5,000 people have benefitted from our multiple food projects.

We ensure the recipients of your Zakat donations are people in dire need of it, starting with the people who need it the most. We have members of staff in Pakistan who are aware of the communities facing the most intense levels of deprivation.

After identifying the most deprived areas, further surveys are conducted to ensure they meet our eligibility criteria. Factors we consider are the adequacy of living standards, rates and quality of employment, and the number of familial dependents. The actual beneficiaries will then be personally visited by our team.

Arsh Foundation has this rigorous selection process in place to ensure that your Zakat reaches those who need it most. Fulfil your religious obligation of Zakat by donating to Arsh Foundation.

“Verily those who give alms–be they men or women, -and give Allah a beautiful loan shall be repaid after increasing it many times; and theirs shall be a generous reward.” (Al Hadid: 18)
